The jazz vocal ensemble is the perfect place for vocalists who are curious about jazz (and instrumentalists who are curious about the first instrument, the voice) to learn about how the voice works in the jazz genre through ear training, muscle memory, listening, and music making fun!
In this choir, you will sharpen your sight singing skills, learn how to hear and sing intricate harmonies, and get comfortable singing different styles from the jazz genre.
Students will learn how to skat, swing and harmonize with their peers.
Students will learn music different styles including swing, hardbop, bossa nova, and post modern jukebox.
Students will have the opportunity to perform for peers, family members and community mulitple times a semester.
We provide access to music education to anyone who seeks it, regardless of economic status, ability, ethnicity, or religion, which has a profound impact on individual lives as well as on our entire community.
Our goal is to make music education accessible and to remove the financial barrier that may prevent students from participating. Therefore, we offer need-based financial aid to as many students as possible.
