Summer in the City
Bloomingdale Resident Teaching Artist, Marc Peloquin, leads this four-week lecture course designed to inspire a greater appreciation for music throughout a variety of musical styles.

What you will learn
In this four-week lecture series, adult participants will enrich their understanding of music by engaging with the fundamental elements involved in musical perception through group discussion, recorded listening examples, and live demonstrations of musical concepts.
Participants in this course will engage with diverse musical works that will be sure to enhance your enjoyment of summer. We will explore masterworks with a summer theme by such composers as George Gershwin, Duke Ellington, Leonard Bernstein, Ellen Taaffe Zwilich, Aaron Copland, and Tchaikovsky. Join us for a weekly musical vacation!
