This class provides a thorough introduction to the study of the different percussion instruments in a supportive group class setting. Students will learn how to hold the sticks or mallets (depending on the instrument), different rhythms and cultures from other countries, how to make music with other players, and basic music notation.
In this engaging group class for beginners you’ll learn the basics of percussion. We’ll learn technique and fundamental elements through popular tunes, and basic music reading.
By the end of the course you’ll be able to play different rhythms, basic music notation, and how to make music with other players.
Students will have opportunities to perform in our sharing hours at the end of the semester.
